CASTRO DE SAN MIGUEL




El Castro de San Miguel, llamado así por su ubicación en la ladera del Teso de San Miguel, está en el término municipal de Villamayor a unos pocos kilómetros de Salamanca. Poca información he podido recopilar de él salvo que lo datan de la edad de hierro y que está incluido en el inventario arqueológico de la provincia
Por lo que he leído y dada su similitud con otras construcciones, podrían ser los restos de un "chozo" vetón, construcción utilizada por ese pueblo para dar refugio a ganado, aunque es sólo una suposición. Si alguien tiene información más precisa sobre él agradeceríamos que la compartiera
De cualquier forma impresiona ver construcciones que han resistido el paso de tanto tiempo... En teoría, vio elevarse la catedral así como el resto de edificios de Salamanca, puente romano incluido
The "Castro de San Miguel", so-called due to the location in the slope of San Miguel hill, is in the municipal area of Villamayor, a few kilometers away from Salamanca. The only information I was able to collect is that it was created in iron age and it is included in provincial archaeological inventory
Due to likeness to other constructions, it could be considered the remains of a veton "chozo", a kind of build used to shelter cattle, but it is only a assumption. If someone has another better information about it, we would be grateful for sharing it
Anyway it is impressive to see a building so old... Theoretically it saw the growing of the cathedral as the others buildings of Salamanca, roman bridge included

 
  
 


El cache

Sólo se puede llegar al cache andando. Si vais en coche o en btt deberéis dejar el vehículo en frente de la torre de antenas que está en N 40° 58.458 W 005° 41.666
Para llegar hasta allí desde Salamanca hay que llegar a la glorieta del Obispo Bobadilla (N 40° 58.575 W 005° 41.080), tomar la antigua carretera hacia la urbanización Vega de Salamanca (la salida de la rotonda anterior a la entrada al cementerio) y justo al pasar bajo la autovía, tomar el camino que sale a la izquierda. Pasados 500m habremos llagado a la torre
Finalmente, para llegar al castro desde la torre de antenas tendremos que recorrer otros 500m por la ladera del teso procurando no pisar los sembrados
The only way to reach the cache is walking. If you go driving or cycling you must leave the vehicle opposite the antenna tower located at N 40° 58.458 W 005° 41.666
If you want to reach there from Salamanca you must go to Obispo Bobadilla roundabout (N 40° 58.575 W 005° 41.080) and get the old road to "Vega de Salamanca" estate (the exit on roundabout before cemetery) and as you pass under the highway, you get the left way. You'll reach the tower after 500m
Finally, in order to reach the castro from the antenna tower, we must walk another 500m in the slope of the hill, trying not to step on sown fields

The cointainer is small-size and contains a notebook, a pen and some little objects for swapping
