Geocache Description:

If you are coming or leaving, this cache might be the first or the last for you on Phuket Island, located at the very north of the island. Look for something slightly smaller than a 35mm canister.

The name of the cache originates from one the two bridges connecting Phuket Island to the mainland. At this time there are two bridges with a third under construction. The oldest one is very low, so sailing boats cannot pass under it and have to take a trip around the whole island to the northern marina near the airport.

Quite near the cache is a small shipyard where the classical wooden Thai fishing boats are crafted, just walk a few meters along the beach in direction to the bridges. One of the carpenters told me it takes about one year to build a ship like the one on the picture, and it will have a service time of about ten years.

The water in the bay is usually very calm and it almost invites to walk on the water to the neighbouring province of Phang Nga. (Better don't do it...)

At the road from the highway to the cache you will probably see some fancy concrete structures, which don't seem to belong here. These are used to create artificial coral reefs in the sea around Phuket. They are dropped in the water and after not too many years corals start to grow.
