About Hanley Park
Hanley Park has been the scene of some exciting changes in
recent times. £2.8million has been spent in Hanley Park through the
Greening for Growth programme. The park now boasts some fantastic
facilities such as the Sports Zone and several Play Areas. Other
general improvements in the park make your visit more enjoyable
such as: resurfaced paths and car parks; the lake has been
improved, there is a decked board walk around the lake, modern art
features on the island in the lake and four beautiful fountains;
there is also lighting; restored historical features and
refurbished toilets.
Car parks are located off The Parkway and Off Avenue Road. There
is pedestrian access from all the boundaries of the park: College
road, Avenue Road, Ridgway Road and The Parkway. Hanley park can be
reached on the Cauldon Canal, which runs through the park. The tow
path has recently been refurbished by British Waterways and
connects to the Trent and Mersey Canal at Etruria Locks.
You can read more information about Hanley Park on the
Stoke on Trent Councils website.
Please Remember
When out caching in this location you're in a public park. That
usually means lots of muggles nearby when you're obtaining the
caches. Please ensure that you are not seen retrieving or replacing
any of the caches. That way we can make sure that they stick around
for a long time. Caches where there are more likely to be people
around are given a higher rating to accommodate this
difficulty.
If you're caught in the act of finding or replacing a cache,
take the time to explain to the muggle if they're interested in
GeoCaching and where they can find more information. By doing so,
less geovandalism should occur and more people will hopefully take
up our hobby.
