Geocache Description:

Ammo can along the blue trail at Allerton Park.

This cache is located along the "blue" hiking trail at Allerton Park just over 0.5 miles from the parking lot at 39 59.119, 88 39.005. Very near the cache, the trail will take you along the top of a bluff along the Sangamon River. It is always a scenic hike in any season.

Allerton Park is one of Illinois Seven Scenic Wonders. You can learn more about the park here: (visit link)

Initial cache contents include several Earth-related toys, as well as some Fluorite (Illinois State Mineral) and a fossil Cephalopod (hard-shelled squid relatives from the Ordovician period 443-488 million years ago).
