Geocache Description:

NOTE : RELOCATED BY OWNER 2019 to avoid the increased overgrowth and save your scratches :-) "Trewent Treasure" is great for those walking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path with lovely circular panoramic views at about 100m. View the beaches of Swanlake and Manorbier and on a good day the N.Devon coastline. Lundy Island is also visible most days. This location is on Trewent Point which protects the bay of Freshwater East from the westerly swells.

Parking at a small cost will place you within 1km of the cache site and you can head for Stackpole if you fancy a good walk where you pass the ancient coastal fort (Greenala). You can take the dog but keep on lead preferable as there may be wooly animals grazing and cliff edges. To get to the cache take the Pembrokeshire Coastpath from near the boatyard and head straight to the top, a short steep walk. Take one of the 2 paths to your left towards the headland point itself (a loop). Don't go wandering far from any path, or close to an edge because you don't need to and it can be dangerous. This cache has been relocated due to the excessive gorse overgrowth so we are now saving your legs from scratches. The headland is a lovely panoramic loop walk and the cache is in the only area you can hide for a while to search. The Cache is a small container and contains notebook pencil and small trade items, feel free to take one and give one back. Please don't go removing or breaking any rocks or plants as they are protected because this is a Site Of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) on National Park Land and could result in a heavy fine. Good luck and enjoy. P.S. See if this old local tale is true while you are there " If you can see Lundy Island then its going to rain and if you can't see it then it's already raining" This Cache has been placed with the kind permission of the National Trust (Stackpole Estate)..Thankyou
