Geocache Description:

An unusual door, best described as a folly.

This cache is close to a very unusual door. Known locally as the Burmese door, its history is rather vague.. The nearby Abbey, now trendy flats, was owned by a Lt. Colonel Ravenscroft. I believe he served with the Chindits in the 1943 Burma campaign, hence the name.. It is possible to park within yards of the cache but for those who fancy exercise the nearby St. Marys church is usually open. Turn right and you will find Storrington museum (free) usually manned by a couple of the local relics! A few hundred yards further up the road is a French monastery. Ugly building outside but divine inside and again, usually open. Light a candle to the god of geocaching..The cache is lightly larger than a microcache and contains a log, pencil and a few trinkets for the kids.
