Super-ammo-can-of-trinkets-hidden-in-a-forest Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

rysten: The Bobcat Fire destroyed the Superammocan. The location is completely blackened and the container and chain are missing. I will at least give the area a chance to recover before I try this location again. Thanks to those who found it!

Geocache Description:

An ammo can hidden in the forest.

Congratulations to tech4rf for being first to find! It was found before I knew it was posted.

Being a writer, my mind comes up with some really strange things and I can’t help but write them down. Sometimes my writing is good and sometimes it is… well, a waste of time as you will see inside the log book. The title of this cache popped into my head at 2 AM and I was awake for hours with silly verses running through my head. So I encourage you to add to the song inside the book, either in the log book itself or online when you record your find. This is NOT a requirement to log the find. I just thought you might be more creative than me. As far as I am concerned the sillier the verses the better. Have fun with the cache, the song and in your future geocaching! Rysten and TSPI

Because I was afraid to seek when I was just a lad
My father bought a GPS and told me I’d be glad
We took that gadget out of doors to have a look about
We saw a green dot on the screen and then we headed out

We figured out the strange device and this is what we I got
The green dot changed to yellow and in a shady spot
We saw an odd container that was hidden there for us
A Super-ammo-can-of-trinkets-hidden-in-the-forest

That GPS was just a step in the right direction
I take it with me everywhere and even on vacation
I never know when I will see a green dot on the screen
But when I do I rush right out in car or snow machine.

The green dot on the screen will taunt and then implore us
To go and search the whole wide world you simply can’t ignore it
I make the numbers line up right and this is what I find
A super-peanut-butter-jar-of-swag-out-in-the-desert!

I searched and searched for dots until I’s crazy in the head
I have to find them all now, before I go to bed
I search in all the bushes, and way up in the trees
I think this geocaching thing is some kind of disease
Oh, where is it hidden, where does it lie
Where is it hidden, where does it lie
Where is it hidden, where does it lie
Where is it hidden, where does it lie

I search and look up streets and roads and in the snow and rain
This hunting game has lodged itself somewhere in my brain
Oh look there is a cache and it’s magnetic on a sign
Placed by someone just to blend in with the sign’s design.
An itsy-bitsy-nano-stuck-up-on-a-city-sign!

A super-coffee-can-of-stuff-hidden-on-a-farm-road
A super-decon-container-hanging-in-an-oak-tree
An itsy-bitsy-altoids-box-stuck-underneath-a-park-bench!

Now I seek and look about everywhere I go
My father didn’t know what he started long ago
I’ll find each cache that’s in my town, the state and all the rest
Because of one cache way back yonder hidden in the forest
Super-ammo-can-of-trinkets-hidden-in-the-forest!

Now the information you really wanted: you are looking for a spray painted ammo can and, yes, it is hidden in a forest. You will need an Adventure Pass to park but there is good off road parking near the cache. Wear sturdy shoes. It is a short uphill climb. We walked through snow to place the cache so be aware of the weather when you go. I'd give you a hint but it wouldn't help. It's hidden at the base of some brush, but there is a lot of brush around. There were lots of animal tracks when we placed the cache. Watch for snakes in the summer time.

First to Find can take an autographed copy of my first book or an unregistered FTF geocoin (or both) as a prize. There's plenty of swag and everything in it should be kid friendly.
