The Yorkley Recreation Ground is uphill through the village from Captain's Green (due East). On the way up the hill, past the bandroom on the right and before the Post Office do look behind you to see great views of other forest villages on the horizon. It is possible to see Bream and Sling above the swathes of forest with Elwood and Milkwall to the west and northwest.
The recreation ground is near the centre of the village with a Village Institute building (circa 1923), now completely re-built, senotaph, play area and football field plus a modern day skate board park.
Across from the entrance to the rec is a village store for general provisions and snacks if needed. Also, diagonally opposite is a friendly pub, another refreshment stop and the only pub left in Yorkley out of 5 originals (back in the 1950s).
This cache may be done as a cache and dash or as part of the circular route on foot. This is the point at which the caching and dashing stops however, as there is no further vehicular access or parking available. So the final 4 caches must be completed on foot. Access the cache from either side of the fence but DO NOT climb over the fence - there is a stile at both ends.
