Geocache Description:

The given co-ordinates will take you to a seat overlooking Maramaratotara Bay. I took the ferry to and from Whitianga and walked the short distance to Stage 1. Hopefully the tide will be kind to you too.

From here you need to take a magnetic bearing of 320 degrees

A walk along the beach about 280 metres in the correct direction will hopefully find you adjacent to a large rock with a number of rusty bolts imbedded in the top.

Some have rusty nuts almost complete and some have rusty washers, some are bent over some may be all or some of these conditions. Counting these was originally used to help you unravel the final co-ordinates for GZ. However rust and wear and tear has altered the numbers that were originally used to calculate GZ.
To calculate GZ's coordinates take a gps coordinate reading at the rock (stand on top maybe) then add 11 to the South coordinates and 12 to the East coordinates. There is a checksum in the hints which may help.

. Access to GZ can be gained by a variety of routes and observation will easily show you a most suitable access. There are some dodgy routes so extra care will be needed especially if children are involved. Careless footsteps could lead to injury and the cache is not recommended for night operations.

GZ is visible to passing or stationary muggles so a degree of stealth is required. When setting the cache I used the ruse of photographing the trees and views.

Please replace the cache container so it isn’t visible to prying eyes by replacing the rock cover Final is at South 36 49.ABC East 175 42.XYZ
