In addition to providing the
opportunity to meet other local and area geocachers and to swap war
stories, this event will also wrap up the day's "Dash for the
Cache" race. For more information on the "Dash for the Cache", go
to the NWA Cachers Forum
site.
We would like to thank the following
for hiding caches for the "Dash for the Cache" game.

An alternate site for event info
(rules and such) Is HERE.
Of course, you may attend the event even if you don't participate
in the race.
The NWA Cachers will be providing
hamburgers and hot dogs. We ask that everyone bring a 2 liter
bottle of soda and a side dish to share with the group. Please post
your "will attend", with the number in your party, so we can ensure
that we have everything needed and so that we have enough meat and
how many to plan for.
During the time leading up to the
event, we ask that everyone think back and reflect on the time that
you've been a geocacher. When you sign in for the event, you'll be
asked to write down something that is unique to you as a geocacher.
For example: "I've cached in 45 states and 3 countries", or "I got
a speeding ticket trying to get a First to Find", or "I chose my
last vehicle because of the ground clearance for those remote
caches". If you attended the last "Dash for the Cache", we had a
great time with these "geocacher uniqueness" statements.
If you'd like to donate prizes,
please bring them with you to the event.
Seating at the picnic pavilion is
limited, so bring your lawn chairs.
Add this listing to your watchlist
as we'll be making changes to it up through the time of the
event.
Don't forget to be thinking of your
"geocaching uniqueness" statement. We'll be asking everyone to
write theirs down on a 3x5 card which will be the official event
log-in. If you haven't already done so, don't forget to read the
rules for the "Dash for the Cache" contest.
Sequence of Events
Thursday Evening: Publish list of caches to nwacachers.com
and google docs. Links will be provided here.
Saturday morning at about 9AM: the 30 new caches will be
published. Get them as you make your way to the event.
Saturday at 3PM: Start checking people in to the event. Turn
in your cache lists for scoring. Don't let us forget to time stamp
them. In the event of a tie, the earliest one turned in will be the
winner.
You will be given:
1. Ticket for door prize. Door prizes will be drawn at the end of
the event.
2. A 3x5 card for you to write your geocaching name and geocaching
uniqueness statement on. Turn in to the registration table ASAP.
(12 of the most interesting will be chosen for the contest)
2. Geocaching bingo card. Talk to your fellow event attendees and
get them to sign your squares. Remember, only one square per
geocaching name. Mr. *TnT* and Mrs *TnT* can't each sign one of
your squares. Turn in your completed (blacked out) bingo card for
an extra door prize ticket.
3. Paper for recording your guesses for the geocaching Up-Close
contest. There will be 14 close-up photos of common geocaching
items set up on a table. Record your guesses on the appropriate
blanks. Hold onto your tickets until the festivities begin. There
will be tie-breaker photos designated.
4. Paper for recording your guesses for the geocaching Uniqueness
contest. As the 12 geocaching uniqueness statements are read, you
will guess who belongs to each statement.
The grill will be going right from the outset. Don't forget to
bring your sides and drinks.
At about 4:30, the festivities will begin.
1. The winner of the Dash for the Cache will be announced. The
winner has first choice from the prize table.
2. The geocaching uniqueness contest begins. The winner gets next
choice from the prize table.
3. The geocaching Up-close photos will be revealed. The winner gets
next choice from the prize table.
4. Door prize tickets are drawn. Choose your prize from the table
as your ticket is drawn. Drawing will continue until all prizes are
gone.
At around 6PM, clean up and head home.
Hope Everyone has a great time.
