One of the great things about caching on the West Coast is the
potential opportunity to see many different creatures - bears,
whales, eagles, wolves, porpoises, sea lions, etc (ALWAYS taking
proper precautions, of course...nobody wants a negative
human/wildlife encounter!). We are so fortunate to live amongst so
many other creatures.
One can only imagine how plentiful such creatures were before
European contact, when the Nuu-chah-nulth people made their living
off of the land and sea. The Nuu-chah-nulth-aht have occupied
Vancouver Island's west coast since time immemorial.
