Geocache Description:

SOME SAY THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CACHE. IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS IN YOU ABILITIES, PLEASE DON'T ATTEMPT THIS!

I noticed when I first started goecaching there were not any actually hard caches around Washington. So I decided to make one. The cache is not difficult to find, but climbing the tree might be challenging for some.

I would suggest checking the ground underneath the branch before ascending the tree. Just in case it fell, I don't think it will fall again, but we never know.

This is not hard to get to. You can park right at Pop Barklage park or at Lions Lake. There is a paved trail all the way up to the tree and there is a bench beneath the beautiful 200 year old White Oak.
You will have to climb the tree to the very top to get to the cache. This is not for the faint of heart or out-of-shape person. I would suggest you bring a friend to spot you from the ground. The container is an orange bottle wedged in a cavity on top the a branch in the tree. (See pictures) Within a few feet attached with a string is another container for swapping. If you do manage to get it, make sure you wedge it back in SECURELY after you have signed the log book.
When you are up in the tree and you look towards the baseball field and then look straight down, there is a bicycle rim that someone placed over a branch when the limb was still a little sprout. Just one of the many fascinating things about this incredible tree. Even if you can not climb the tree to get to the cache, it is more than worth it to visit such an amazing creation.

Again, IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS IN YOU ABILITIES, PLEASE DON'T ATTEMPT THIS!

Congratulations to toadfrommars for FTF. I have a feeling he might also be the OTF, "Only To Find"
You are more then welcome to climb up a third time to sign the log book. ;-)
