Behind the Plate Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

offline.cacher: The general rule reviewers use to archive a cache is that the cache owner has been notified (through a log entry) by the reviewer and that no response has been forthcoming. This is the case with this cache. As a result it has been archived.
If the owner would like to discuss this issue, please contact me through my geocaching.com profile. Include the GC code for the cache.

Geocache Description:

This is a two part multi-cache. Both stages are roughly behind home plate, on the first base side. Stage one is a bison tube. It contains only the coordinates for stage two. Stage two is a lock-n-lock that if replaced properly, will not be immediately visible. ***PLEASE REPLACE BOTH STAGES PROPERLY!*** The original contents of the lock-n-lock were a logbook, a small pencil, a number of small items and a five dollar bill for the FTF.

If you are approaching either stage through PI, there is an easier way. There is PI around stage one, but it should be easy to avoid. Both stages probably should be avoided during a ballgame. Please do not put a spoiler in your note when logging your search. You will know what that means after making the find. This cache should only be attempted in daylight.

This is where Union Brigadier General Abner Doubleday's division was positioned during the Battle of Fredericksburg. The division saw very little action during the battle, at the extreme left flank of Franklin's Grand Division. Doubleday fired the first shot in defense of Fort Sumter, the opening battle of the war. He later would have a pivotal role in the early fighting at the Battle of Gettysburg. In San Francisco, after the war, he obtained a patent on the cable car railway that still runs there. He is generally considered to be the inventor of baseball.

Congratulations to Aloha! & Wahine Eye Spy for the FTF!
