Geocache Description:

Tal el Amarna is located on the east bank of the Nile River in the modern Egyptian province of Minya, some 58 km (38 miles) south of the city of al-Minya, 312 km (194 miles) south of the Egyptian capital Cairo and 402 km (250 miles) north of Luxor.

The area contains an extensive Egyptian archaeological site that represents the remains of the capital city newly–established and built by the Pharaoh Akhenaten of the late Eighteenth Dynasty (c. 1353 BC), and abandoned shortly afterwards. The name for the city employed by the ancient Egyptians is written as Akhetaten (or Akhetaton – transliterations vary) in English transliteration. Akhetaten means "Horizon of the Aten."

The Small Aten Temple is located in the abandoned city of Akhetaten (modern Amarna, in Egypt). It is one of the 2 major temples in the city, the other being the Great Temple of the Aten.
Originally known as the Hwt Aten or Mansion of the Aten, it was probably constructed before the larger Great Temple.
Like the other structures in the city, it was constructed quickly, and hence was easy to dismantle and reuse the material for later construction

the cache is located in an empty brick-space of the temple's very short mud-brick fence surrounding it. when you enter the temple from its entrance, you see the 2 columns facing you, the cache remains in the fence behind them, exactly in the middle between them.

PLZ be careful of the muggles/guardians/tour guides, stealth is required.

the cache is a small plastic clear test tube containing only a log paper, so PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PEN to log the cache
