Geocache Description:

An easy to find traditional cache in the middle of a new rain garden. In season, enjoy the native prairie plants, butterflies, bluebirds, and woodchuck. On the University of Missouri south campus. A hike in cache. Visitor parking is near Provincial House, off East Drive on the circle drive to the NW.

Welcome to the CHERP Rain Garden. The easy to find cache is a clear plastic box. We encourage you to take a moment and enjoy the rain and butterfly garden. Please record your comments in the notebook.

The rain garden was established in 2010 by college students at the Pierre Laclede Honors College at UMSL. As part of the Urban Ecology courses, students are planning to enlarge the garden to become a 1 acre demonstration prairie. Students monitor water quality in the nearby Engelholm Creek. We see coyote, raccoon, woodchuck, and over 40 species of birds in the area.

This is a walk in cache. Visitor parking on UMSL south campus is restricted to visitor parking places near Provincial House, off East Drive. Provincial House is signed and there are parking places along the circle drive.
