Goring-on-Thames is a picturesque village which won the
Oxfordshire Village of the Year in 2009. In the early 90's, for
some unknown reason, Goring became THE place for teenagers from the
surrounding area to hang out. Wednesday and Friday nights would
sometimes see 100s of teens congregating on the rec and around the
village.
This series celebrates some of the places where various "posses"
would hang out - either on foot or in cars.
Druids used to be reasonably accesible by car, but the track is
pretty rough these days, so I would not advice it. This spot offers
amazing views of the Oxfordshire country side, spoilt only by
Didcot power station! The cache is on a public footpath which leads
to Elvendon Road in Cleve one way (lovely when the bluebells are
out), and Beech Lane in Woodcote the other. Wellies are advised if
it has been raining.
