Geocache Description:

My Granddad used to take me to this park in the early 70's when I was a nipper. He taught me how to row a boat on the main part of the lake, not much evidence of row boats now so not sure if still an activity here in the summer.

He also bought me a small wooden toy sail boat which we used to sail on the small part of the lake when there was a breeze. I clearly remember running around the lake waiting for the boat to return to dry land after it had stayed in the middle for seemingly ages ! Always late for tea back at Nanna's lol !

Returned back to the lake back in the early 2000's with my son Nick to repeat the process but this time with a remote controlled boat, same problem though when the batteries ran out mid lake, thats technology for you :-)

Returned again today with Son number two, Daniel aged 3 years with the same remote controlled boat and with the same battery problems haha ! Great to see the same enjoyment through the generations. Hope you enjoy, bring a boat, food for the ducks and some waders to retrieve any marooned yachts !
