Salama Tompoko! is a traditional formal greeting in Madagascar, the world's 3rd largest island located off the southeast coast of Africa. This cache (our first) is the first of several caches celebrating numerical linguistics, the number systems used by the international geocaching community.
The Malagasy language has several dialects, with Merina being the most common. The number system is fairly straightforward with the exception of adding from right to left to express more than a single digit number. For example, in English we say "thirty seven", whereas in Malagasy it would be "seven and thirty".
This cache is not at the posted coordinates. Instead, it is located at N roa amby efapolo, efatra amby folo.iray iray roa. W valo amby valopolo, valo amby folo.telo fito iray.
Veloma!
