Hot Chocolate in Redland Green Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

staticman1: This cache has gone walkabouts and have decided to archive it for the following reasons.

1)The cache location has been discovered by local youngsters who have vandalised the log book and cache in the past.

2)The area has deteriorated somewhat since I placed the cache

3) I will be leaving the area shortly so maintenance will be much harder for me

4) It is a nice park and think there is plenty of scope for a cache to be placed elsewhere.

Apologies to the owners of the Travel Bugs. I did search the area to see if they had been discarded anywhere but no luck. Hope you all enjoyed finding this one!

Geocache Description:

This cache is on a steep slope so please wear suitable footwear and please be careful if it is muddy. Not suitable for people in wheelchairs or with some mobility problems.

The cache is a small container originally with notepad, pen, rules of Geocaching and some small toy swaps. There is room for small swaps and travel bugs. This is my first placed cache so all feedback would be appreciated.

From Wikipedia: Redland Green is a park in the Bristol suburb of Redland. The park consists of a grassed area and scrub and woodland managed as wildlife habitats by Bristol City Council in partnership with local community groups. A major event each year is Redland May Fair which has been held annually for over 25 years.

The green was once farmland, part of the manor of Redland. The name comes from the Latin Rubea Terra and in Norman, la Rede Londe, describing the red soil of the area. The palace of the Bishop of Bristol once stood there, but was destroyed by bombing in World War II. Adjacent to the green are tennis courts, a bowling green and a secondary school. To the north there are allotments.
