Geocache Description:


When: Saturday, March 5th, 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Where: Monson Library Community Room, 2 High Street, Monson

Note: There is parking at the library, but the parking lot is very small. Additional parking is available on the street.

What a 2011 winter so far! Good luck finding those guardrail micros under 8' snow plow drifts!! Hopefully everyone can take a break from winter weekend caching for a few minutes to join us at the Western Mass Winter Warmup 6.0.

Please join us for another installment of food, conversation and fun! We'll supply the hot chocolate, marshmallows and whipped cream. We'd love for you to bring along a snack to share.

We're back in Monson again for this year's meet, and the library is only open until 2pm, so once again, we're making this more of a lunchtime affair.

Event Buttons!!
As per tradition, the gracious team of Henry & Elly have offered to create event buttons to everyone that posts a 'will attend' log by March 1st. Please list number attending and names of your crew with your log.

Kids Craft/Decorate a cache
For the kids, or wannabe kids, we'll again have the cache containers primed and ready to be decorated, and Alexa's clamorin' to add a kids craft of her design, so bring the kids!!!

Chirp..chirp...
I'm sure you'll be able to find the travel bug table, and maybe the hot chocolate, but, if you have a Chirp compatible device, you might get a little early info on heading out on a cache hunt after the event proper. And a Chirp compatible device might just allow you to fill out your geo-Bingo card. (Note: if you don't tote a Chirp capable device, I'm sure you'll be able to find someone who does!)

Of course we'll have the usual raffle to finish up the event, so be sure to stick around to win some prizes, and since we're finishing up before 2pm, be sure to join us to find a cache or two after the official part of the meet.

Dinner and a Cache
As usual, we'll be heading out to the Steaming Tender for dinner afterwards. We'll plan on being there at 4pm. Please advise in your log whether you'd like me to add your group to to the list for reservations!

After the Tender, we'll be heading out on a night hike, so bring along your headlamp and join us in the fun!

Updates

Dinner at the Steaming Tender is set for 4pm. Let them know that you're part of the geocaching group when you arrive.

If you are planning on heading out for the night hike, we highly recommend bringing snowshoes, as reports from this weekend are that it's still very deep snow on the trail, though if you go towards the rear of the train of people, it might not be too bad!
