Lowry Peaks Range provides the backdrop to the historic Kaiwara Station and Homestead established in 1886. Home of the "Kaiwara Classic" adventure mountain bike ride from Culverden to Cheviot...43km of mountain biking adventure from Culverden over the Lowry Peaks Range through the Ethelton Valley up the Random Spur before the final fast 4wd track descent to finish in Cheviot. Travel to the very top of St Leonards Road (becomes gravel after the Kaiwara Homestead Road intersection). Take care to leave gates as you find them! This is a public road through working farmland. Travel to the summit where you will find the coordinate. Park near the gate and walk west up the ridge (can follow an old sheep track) to the 1 litre cammo traditional cache.**Please be VERY careful with your geokiddies near the ridgeline as there is a steep drop on the other side!!! A family favourite spot for a walk up to the summit (we park at the beginning of the shingle road section just after the Kaiwara Homestead Road intersection and it's an easy 40 minute hike up on a gravel road) and a beautiful place for a picnic with spectacular views over the Amuri Basin. This is our family's first attempt at hiding a cache. Bring your lunch and enjoy the views!
