A CFA strike team is working on spot fires along the main road, just below the cache, where also the first Black Saturday fatality occured. Across the radios a warning comes from the nearby fire tower.
A wind change has occurred. The horror is etched on many of the fire fighters faces as they realised what was about to happen. The questions are yelled about why hasn't technology given us this warning, why haven't we been paged and messaged about this. Its crossed the state and we find out about it when its 10kms.
Immediate conclusion the fire tower will be correct. (The pager warning came 22 hours later, by then this event was a front story all around the world). Screams of leave the hoses stop cars going down the hill and get out of here are prevalent. Police helped with cars. The last trucks made it up the hill as the road melted around them and the trucks where severely scorched. End result many lives saved in a disaster, by having a human able to see what was happening and communicating instead of relying on technology that completely failed on this day. A fact often overlooked in the blame game.

This cache is a short but steep walk up the hill in a recovering landscape. Its original contents included tent pegs, lint blower. bubble blower (why did I buy so many), crazy string, neon hair spray, broken camera, police flagging tape, sharpening stone, Dora the explorer tamborine, glow in the dark wrist bands.
