Geocache Description:

The cannons are Armstrong Muzzle loading cannons from the ship HMVS Nelson, which was launched in 1814. They were a gift to the Eaglehawk council in 1898, 'to inspire the native youth with military ardour'. They are fired each year on Australia Day and there are times of the day and times of the year when this cache will be difficult to locate.
