Geocache Description:

Fort Gibson is the home of the Sweet Corn Festival and the Smokin the Fort BBQ Festival each year. Long ago this spot grew a large oak under which many gathered to enjoy the shade, converstation, and a good game of checkers. It is rumored that you could even pick up a little spirit from local moonshiners and kids would sell scrap bottles for change from the shiners. Today its still the center of much activity and you can even pick up a cache or two while enjoying the Oldest Town in Oklahoma.
