Geocache Description:

This is number 2 out of a series of 3 caches in this area (there MAY be more to follow in the future). All the caches are based on classic fairytales for example Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. Each of the caches are in Stanion and the location of the first cache is very close to the parking co-ordinates. The caches are all placed on a public footpath which is about a mile walk which takes you to Brigstock.

The Story

Once upon a time there lived 3 Billy Goats. They lived on the foot of the mountain and they ate grass and watched geocachers all day long. But one day all the lovely nice grass was all gone, on the 3 Billy goats side so they all decided to cross the bridge to the other side to eat the lovely grass on that side. So the 3 Billy Goats went to the bridge little did they know under the bridge lived a big bad troll. The littlest goat went first and as he went trip trapping over the bridge the ogre emerged and shouted “who’s that trip trapping over my bridge” “just me, I’m going over to the hill side too eat some grass” said the little goat “not if I eat you first” said the ogre.” “ oh no you don’t want to eat me Mr ogre you want to eat my friend middle sized Billy goat he is much fatter than me” “ok then be off with you goat before I change my mind” The middle-sized goat went second and as he went trip trapping over the bridge the ogre emerged and shouted “who’s that trip trapping over my bridge” “just me , I’m going over to the hill side too eat some grass” said the middle goat “not if I eat you first” said the ogre.” “Oh no you don’t want to eat me Mr ogre you want to eat my friend big Billy goat he is much fatter than me” “ok then be off with you goat before I change my mind” The big goat went last and as he went trip trapping over the bridge the ogre emerged and shouted “who’s that trip trapping over my bridge” and with that the ogre hoped up on the bridge “I’m going to eat you!” “Oh no you’re not” said the big goat as he pushed the ogre of the bridge and into the river which swept the Ogre away and he was never to be seen again and the 3 Billy goats lived in peace from that day on.
