Geocache Description:

Sunset Boulevard has a fantastic collection of Monterey Cypress trees. These massive trees evoke gigantic bonsai, and their wrinkled trunks make great hides for geocaches. This is the first in a series.

This cache is a round plastic container, a little larger than a tuna can, hidden in one of these fantastic trees.

Rebecca Solnit, in her 2010 atlas of San Francisco, "Infinite City" plotted the location of monterey cypress trees in San Francisco and homicides in a given year.

Let's just say it's a lot safer to live where the trees do.

This series of caches celebrates the grand trees, as their wonderful trunks are a boon to cachers all over San Francisco.
