Tentative Schedule
10:00 a.m. Arrive and Check in at the Inland Empire Geocaching
Banner along the fence in the main parking lot
We will plan on cleaning up for about 2 hours.
There are 2 geo-caches on site and others in the area to find
after the event.
Another Event the same day (But a different time): The
Presidential Phoon Afternoon "Flash Mob Event" GC2N9P6 1:45 pm on
Saturday.
What To Bring:
Your own work gloves! While we have some, they are not the
greatest. You'll be happier if you bring your own.
Plastic grocery bags and or garbage bags.
Your well behaved geo dogs are welcome to help pitch in too!
*Note that there are houndstongue plants/seeds that other
volunteers will be removing, while not a danger, they stick to dogs
coats and clothing. Bring your dog brush.
I recommend wearing jeans/slick nylon clothing so the seeds
don't stick to you. If you wear cotton sweat pants or wool you will
collect the seeds.
What will we be doing:
The Geocachers CITO focus will be on garbage pickup.
Volunteers from SpokAnimal and others will be pitching in (the
same day) to eliminate the hounds tongue seed plants.
Gravel needs to be spread out.
SpokAnimal representatives will be there to direct their work
efforts.
I attended a Spokanimal cleanup here, Feb 4th and we collected
about 30 large bags of houndstongue plants (We got alot of it
removed, although there's still some remaining) See Spokesman
Review front page Saturday Feb. 5th.(we left the garbage for the
19th CITO event.).
SpokAnimal will be providing hotdogs and water bottles for
volunteers.
Watch our Facebook page for other upcoming Chapter Events.
