Spring is here and we are looking forward to another great year of geocaching! We completed our first year of geocaching last month, so this is kind of a little first anniversary celebration for us! Please come out to eat, chat, pick some prizes, and geocache! There will be several new caches published for this event. We don't have a complete count yet, but we are aiming for six. There will also be a travel bug swap, and a mini Easter egg hunt!
Event date: Saturday, April 23
Event time: 11:30 a.m. to about 1:00 p.m.
Event location: Caboose Park (Hand-in Hand Park) Shelter III (near the wooden play structure)

In the event of poor weather, please check the cache page the day before the event to see the plan. We may postpone to one week later, or simply go with it.
Please log a "will attend" to indicate you are coming to the event. Please mention the number of children who will participate in the Easter egg hunt, and what you will bring for a snack.
Here is what you should bring:
1) Yourself and any geokids, geodogs,and friends
2) A GPS, of course!
3) Warm clothing, as this event is outside, and weather is unpredictable
4) A snack of some kind. Please write what you'll be bringing in your note so we don't end up with a lot of the same thing. (We will provide paper plates, cups, etc and some sodas, so we just need snacks.)
5) Travel bugs, geocoins, or other trade items.
6) Bring at least 1 item (per person) to give away as a door prize. I'll give each person who comes a raffle ticket then we'll start calling them off. When your number is called, you come up to the table and select whatever you want. This could be homemade caches, unactivated TB tags, Camo Duct Tape, whatever! We will contribute an unactivated cache event micro geocoin as a prize.
Directions to the Event:
Take route 460 towards Blacksburg. Get off at the North Main Street 460 business route exit. Follow North Main Street south until it intersects with Patrick Henry Drive at the Food Lion plaza. Turn LEFT onto Patrick Henry. Park in the lot near the skate park and tennis courts.
