This cache is hidden deep in the Jamieson River Valley, at the site of an old silver mine. There are various rellics, including an old tunnel in the valley of a small creek of the main river. The area can accessed from Axe Track, only by 4X4, and a 30 min walk, one way, along the Mitchell's Bridle Trail. Alternatively,if you only have a two wheel drive, you can walk from Granny's Flat along the Bridle Trail, a two day return walk.
The cache is a 1.2 Ltr Sistema, camo box. Axe Trk is closed from Thursday after Queen's Birthday weekend til the week before Melbourne Cup Weekend.
