We have dedicated this cache to a war time classic, Das Boot, by
Lothar-Gunther Buchheim. It was made into a very successful film in
1981 and an equally successful BBC mini series in 1985. In case you
missed it, it is about a World War II German U-Boat crew who have a
terrifying patrol mission in the latter days of the war.
This cache is one of the Novel Cache Series. The series includes
a variety of cache sizes, some suitable for TB drops. Some of the
cache containers are themed to the books and some are ordinary
caches. The terrain in places was very muddy when set in February
and unfortunately some of it involves a walk on the road.
Good parking for the series is at the Forestry Commission pay
