Geocache Description:

We found this place about 3 ago years and were facinated by the beautiful and very unusual rock formation. We wanted to share it with you all.
We would recommend that unless you have a 4x4 you park at the little church and walk the rest of the way. A pleasant walk with just a little bit of a hill on the way back to the car.
The sight when you get to the cache is worth it.

We have researched the area to find out what this interesting mineral could be and it turns out Polemi basin was a semi enclosed shallow water basin with fluctuations or fresh and sea water flowing in and out. The mineral which covers this hillside is in fact Alabaster Gypsum.
