This cache takes you to see Harrinniva rapid of Muonio river. You can park your car at parking spot at the end of road 404 or on parking area over on the Finland side. Cache is about 800 meters from the road by a trail.
The name Harrinniva can be translated as Harry's Rapid; the word niva is used in Finnish to describe Class I rapids or fast moving waters and it is a loanword from Sami language [1][2]. Higher class rapids are called as koski in Finnish; one example of such more fast moving rapid is Äijäkoski. If you want to go see Äijäkoski, you can either continue walking by the trail on west-side or go by car on the east-side. Walk to the Äijäkoski on the west-side of the river is about four to five kilometres from the cache.
