Geocache Description:

Another in a series of caches dedicated to my all time favorite duo, Simon & Garfunkel. If you take time to read the description, you'll learn a little bit about these amazing guys, their sometimes rocky relationship and their own cache of chart topping music.Their lyrics are poetic, profound, sometimes fun and sometimes angry in a gentle way.

Friends since elementary school and off and on performers since their junior year in high school, Paul & Art went their separate ways in 1964 after recording the album "Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M." Paul moved to the United Kingdom where he performed solo at local London establishments and toured some of the provincial folk clubs. While there he collaborated with Bruce Woodley of The Seekers on several songs among them, "I Wish You Were Here", "Cloudy" and "Red Rubber Ball" which became a #1 hit in the US for The Cyrkle.

The BOOKENDS album was released in 1968 and was dubbed the duo's concept album. It reached #1 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart with 4 singles making the charts as well. Side One contained songs about their views on age; Side Two was made up of unused songs written for the Mike Nichols film "The Graduate". Although "Mrs. Robinson" became the #1 hit from this collection and won a Grammy in 1969 as Record of the Year, there was something sweet and simple and touching about the song BOOKENDS.

Time it was and what a time it was.
It was a time of innocence, a time of confidences.
Long ago, it must be. I have a photograph.
Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you.

Congratulations to Team Buckley for FTF
