Where: Davison Regional
Park
Davison Regional Park is not part of the Genesee County Parks
system. We were unable to hold an event within any of the county
parks because of liability concerns. Davison Regional Park is a
very nice area with several geocaches of its own. The caches that
are being placed for this event will not be within Davison
Regional, however, the bulk of the new caches will not be far from
there. To access Davison Regional from I-69, take exit #145
(M-15/State Rd).
What: The 2011 Genesee County
Parks Event will be our largest event to date! The Auto City
Cachers are organizing this event to increase awareness of the
beauty of the Genesee County Parks, and draw attention to the
geocaching opportunities that are available in the parks. We are
hoping to place more than 50 new geocaches in the parks for this
event, including three Wherigos! The Wherigos will be published
shortly before the event. The rest of the caches will remain
unpublished until the day of the event. Bring your GPS and cable so
we can load you up with all the caches. Keep checking this event
page for updates as the number of caches that we have hidden
grows.
There will be one free
special event *Tag*, lanyard and discount coupon
given to every geocaching team that attends this
event.

More information to follow. Be sure to place
this event on your watchlist, and check back often for updates.
Update: May 19
All caches for the event have been placed. They will not be
published until sometime after 10:00 PM on Saturday (except the
Wherigos and the earthcache). That means at least 81 First to Finds
are up for grabs! Bring your GPS and cable so we can load the
caches onto your device. If you have other caches already on your
GPS, be sure to leave room for 85 more that we will be loading for
you.
The final count of 85 caches includes: 71
traditionals (4 of which are island caches), 5 puzzles (2 of which
are night caches), 3 Wherigos, 2 multicaches, 1 letterbox, 1
earthcache and 2 events (this event and a flash mob).
The Wherigos and the earthcache have already
been published, but we will still include them in the gpx file for
loading.
The coordinates for the 2 night caches will be
made available at the flash mob at 9:15 PM Saturday.
If you want a pocket query to cover all of the
existing caches between the parks, we suggest you center it at
GC2471X and use a radius of 20 miles.
