This cache was placed for the 2011 Mid-Winter Event.
The trail head for the cache is a well marked parking lot on Rt. 30 just north of the Adirondack Museum. The trail is a moderate hike of roughly 2 miles each way and offers some great views from the top.
The cache itself is hidden just off the trail on the lower section of the Blue Mountai trail. However, there are other caches on the trail and, if you can we suggest you try for the summit to check out the amazing view and the fire tower.
When we set the cache it was a brisk January day that registered 8 degrees in the parking area and offered lots of fun on the way up - fresh 3 foot snow drfits to break trail on, ice and plank water crossings and of course beautiful woodland views along the way and a fire tower (covered in ice) at the top.
