An easy to find Cache located on an island off the coast of Whangamata beach.
The island is just over 1 km off shore and only accessable by kayak. Donut island (Whenuakura) is hollow, access is through a narrow sea cave, at back of the island. Inside, a small sandy beach is exposed at all tides, but care needs to be taken if the sea is rough or choppy.
Usual care and safety precautions for sea kayaking needed.
Poor signal at GZ, use hint.
Small sistema box. Contains notebook, pencil, pencil sharpener.
Best beach access for viewing the island is at the end of Island View Road.
