Geocache Description:

This cache is situated in the historic area of Godolphin Woods which are opposite the 15th century Godolphin House est. There was extensive mining in godolphin woods from the early 1600's to the late 1840's. The remains of polglase's shaft can still be seen today. The easiest entrance to the woods is at the parking coordinates provided.

The terrain is typical woodland terrain and can become very wet and muddy after periods of rain. Please keep all dogs and children close as there are some open mine shafts in these woods and a river that runs through it.
The cache is a small lock top type container and when first placed contains a log book, pen, Skate Dude tb and various other swaps. This cache was placed with the kind permission of the National Trust.
