Geocache Description:

A small clip lock box which can fit small trackables and swaps!

This is my first cache. My name is Jenny and I am 8. I am known as The Muppet!! My cache has nothing to do with muppets apart from my nickname, but if you want to leave me some that would be a lot of fun!

I like this walk - we take our dog up here and you can see for miles. But today it was foggy, so we couldn't see anything at all.

I have put in some nice swaps that kids like. Please leave nice things too.

Please make sure you rehide my cache carefully. Thank you

The cache is near Pewitts Farm Barrow. This is a bell-type tumulus, with the mound approximately 44 ft in diameter and the ditch approx 90 ft in diameter (most has now gone, there is only a small mound left now). It was excavated in 1938, and Early-Middle Bronze age shards were found which suggested that this was a hut or occupied home, rather than purely funerial. There was a central oval-shaped grave, 5x3x3 feet deep, which was plank-lined and had contained a cremation accompanied by a bronze awl and bronze rivetted dagger. This suggests a date of transitional Early-Mid Bronze age, (around 2200 BC).

Please note - this cache is on the Ridgeway, which is closed to motor vehicles. Please DO NOT drive to this cache. Thank you!
