Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of presidential caches.

IT'S BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THERE IS A LOT OF POISON IVY IN THE AREA OF THIS ONE. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH THERE IS AT GZ. I'M ADDING A POISON PLANT ATTRIBUTE. IF ANYONE ENCOUNTERS EXCESSIVE POISON IVY AGAIN LET ME KNOW AND I'LL LOOK AT ARCHIVING THIS ONE.

These caches will come in a variety of sizes, difficulties and terrains. They will be placed all across the area. Hopefully everyone will enjoy finding them.

Grover Cleveland was the Twenty-Fourth U.S. president. He was born on March 18, 1837 in New Jersey. He died on June 24, 1908. He was president from March 4, 1893 until March 4, 1897. He was affiliated with the Democratic party. After losing the 1888 election to Benjamin Harrison he decided to run again in 1892. He won the rematch with Harrison by a landslide. During Harrison's term in office there were six new states added to the union (North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Washington, Idaho and Wyoming. Utah was not allowed to enter with much of the cause being uncertainty about Mormon polygamy. Cleveland passed an Enabling act in 1894 that allowed Utah to apply for statehood. They joined the union in 1896. Cleveland remains the only U.S. president to serve for two non-consecutive terms.

This is one of three consecutive difficult hides in the presidential series. The terrain is actually pretty flat. The rating comes from the fact that you will have to negotiate some very wet ground. I ran across some areas with about a foot of water. You can skirt around them, but you still walk through several inches. The other issue is the abundance of mosquitoes during the summer months. Be sure to shower in repellent before trying this one.
