Geocache Description:

This cache is located along the trail in the Buena Vista River Park.

This cache is right next to one of the many trails in the BV River park. It is also very well camoflaged to fit in with its surroundings so some searching will most likely be needed. In the summer time this area is a very high muggle area so use caution. The site of the foot bridge was once the location for a hydoelectric dam built in 1888. The plant only produced DC power until 1927, afterwords providing both DC/AC power. The dam failed in the spring of 1928, was rebuilt and was in use until about 1944 when Sangre De Cristo Electric was formed by which time the dam was in very bad shape. During the spring of 1948 during heavy run off the dam broke and was no more. If you look across the river you can still see where the water line was. At the bridge you can also see remains of the dam and where the power plant was.
You will need to bring a writing tool and possibly some tweezers. Keep in mind the town parks close at 11pm. Happy Caching and have fun!

Good Job reaching on the FTF! :)
