How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

The cache IS NOT located at the posted coordinates. There is no need to enter any airport at any stage to find this cache.

This cache is for those who travel a lot and manage to pick up a few caches on the road. I usually fly wherever I have to go and also have a love for aircraft having toured the Boeing plant in Everett, WA, visited the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC & Virginia, the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA and The Fantasy of Flight near Tampa, FL.

The cache IS NOT located at the posted coordinates.

Please read the description below for logging requirements.

To log a “Found it” for this cache in addition to finding the cache and signing the logsheet you must have completed the following task:

Found at least 30 caches in the cities of the airports listed below (Not any random airport you chose). For the LARGER cities I will accept the metro area OR within 35km of the airport. I will be lenient if you're just a few km over.

Only 1 cache can be used for each airport code listed. You can not reuse the same airport code over and over.
Bonus Caches:
- Any qualifying caches greater than 1000km from FSD within the US can be counted twice.(x2)
- Any qualifying caches located in another country can be counted 4 times.(x4)
- Any qualifying caches located in Australia 5 times.(x5)

The following cache types are accepted for this challenge - Traditional, Multi (Starting Location), Virtual, EarthCache and Letterbox

Note: Originally the requirement was 18 airports/geocaches (including bonus caches) I recently updated the airport list from 18 to 87!!! Ensuring this geocache stays at a 5 difficulty the amount of required geocaches listed has been bumped up to 30 geocahes (35% of airports I've used). With 69 additional airports listed it should make it slightly easier to achive the required finds. I will review the list of airports on National Aviation Day each year. smiley

In your online log you must reference each airport code (IATA) and GC number
(e.g)
FSD =GC21EHA
SEA=GC1RBN8 (x4) Bonus Cache-Overseas Cache
BJI=GC1HG1E
MSP=GC1B7FZ
SYD=GC21VP4 (x5)Bonus Cache-Australian Cache
ETC....
