Long Description.
This is a 900ml clip-lock cache
located just off one of the less used paths through Holme House
Wood.
Care should be taken as this cache
is just off a rough and sometimes muddy track and if it has been
raining, you may prefer to use the open field below the cache
location as your path and start your final walk to the cache from
the Waypoints we have provided. The tree cover will play a little
havoc with your GPS, so take your time and you should be
fine.
We have given it a terrain
difficulty of 2, which may seem a bit much, but you do need to take
care on this path or if you step off it as it may be
slippery! Especially so if you are going between this cache
and Poor man's seat (GC2P803) located along the same path as it does cross
a small stream and will be muddy after rain.
Whilst this is in a relatively quiet
location, plenty of folk and their mutts still use these paths, so
after signing the log, please carefully replace the cache in the
same location as found.
Hints/Spoiler
Info.
Our young lad really enjoyed
watching the Flintstones and thought Bam Bam was brilliant, so
please try to find Flintstones House before decrypting the hint, as
the hint may spoil the fun and suggest the location!
A little about Myrtle Park in
Bingley.
Whilst the cache is not located in
Myrtle Park, it is just across the River Aire in Holme House Wood
via the 1951 Festival of Britain Bridge or from the lower path
leading of Harden Road nearby Altar Lane at the Waypoint we have
provided..
There is plenty to do in the park
from walks by the River Aire, flying a kite on the field and in
season a game of bowls, tennis or basketball may be arranged
(usually April to Sept but check the council web site for Myrtle
park) and the young 'uns can really enjoy the enclosed children's
play area or watching the Cockatiels in the small aviary by the
Cafe in the Park.
The Park can be busy at any time of
the year, especially in summer with plenty of folk having picnics
by the river, playing football or attending a music festival etc.,
so stealth may be required when hunting down this cache.
When the weather is fine, the park
is usually buzzing from dawn to late.
