Sniff, sniff. I was driving around one day, just kind of trolling, and came across a bizarre thing. It looked strange, yet somehow familiar...
Yes, I had only been caching for less than a year, but I had already begun to routinely see things that weren't actually there; deducing patterns, geolocations mostly, out of thin air.
This time though it was even weirder. Now my sniffer was finding seemingly secret, invisible designations that appeared to exist only in the ether! They were calling on me to follow them, so I did. What I found was a series of locations where information just hung there, waiting to be plucked by an appropriate tool. Not a physical tool, like a hook, but an electronic tool. Without one of these tools, there's no way I could have seen the signs.
Now it's your turn! I've posted the coordinates to the place I sniffed the first odd clue. But that led me to another place (WP2 below). Go to WP2, and that will take you to another, then a final one where you can add your name to the list of people who have managed to follow this interesting, though ultimately pointless, weirdly authored puzzle.
Waypoint 1: Posted coordinates
Waypoint 2: N 42 28.986 W 071 18.683
Waypoint 3: N 42 ??.??? W 071 ??.???
Final: N 42 ??.??? W 071 ??.???
There is absolutely NO need to move, open, dig, break, or disturb anything in any way to find any of the hidden waypoints. Finding the cache container at the final requires some very simple (and obvious!) moving of an object. Please put it back as you found it. There can be significant muggle traffic near the final, so use stealth. Strategic parking might be a good idea.
There is no need to go onto any private residential property to solve this cache.
While solving this puzzle does not involve parking on or near busy streets, all cachers should (as always) be careful in traffic.
Also, some of the waypoints are in residential areas, so please OBEY ALL SPEED LIMITS, and DON'T DRIVE WHILE LOOKING AT YOUR DEVICES!
Congrats to g-o-cashers for the FTF! What did he find anyway?
