Geocache Description:

It’s been a LONG winter - Time now to celebrate the arrival of spring (WE HOPE!)
AND time to get together with fellow cachers, share good food and stories, and find some new caches too! All geocachers, from newbies to old pros, are welcome!!!

What: Potluck picnic event. A few games and prizes, raffle drawing, good company, and good food. Event will be held rain or shine.

When: Saturday, May 21 , 2011. 11 am to ???

Where: Town Hill picnic area in Whitingham Vt. Available onsite are picnic tables, fireplaces, a small shelter in case of rain, electrical outlets, and porta pottys. Some cell service; my iPhone works. There is also WiFi two miles away in Jacksonville village. There is plenty of parking and two big playgrounds for the kids. There will be a table for TB’s & trades, (time to move those tb's that have been stuck all winter!)

Schedule:
11:00 AM to whenever. Meet and Mingle…… Bingo game & prize for those who want to participate; Geo-coloring books for the kids.

12:00 High Noon: Group Photo

12:ish Potluck Lunch right after the photo

1:00: Raffle drawing. For anyone who would like to participate, please bring something for the prize table. The more the merrier! Sign the logbook and get a raffle ticket; we’ll draw out of the ammo can at 1pm til prizes are gone.

THEN…time to go geocaching!
We will place a few new caches for this event, but if anyone else would like to, PLEASE feel free! There were already a few caches in the area, but there is still a lot of empty space on the geo-map around here.

4/22 update: Four new caches placed so far! (and the snow is gone!)

Directions: From North, East, or West: Google directions to Wilmington, then take Rt 100 S 3.5 mi towards Whitingham, turn right onto Wilmington Cross Road for 2 mi, then straight across Rt 100 to Goodnow Rd for ½ mile, bear right, and you’re here!

From the South, at Greenfield rotary, take Rt 2W for 3.8 mi, turn right onto Colrain-Shelburne Rd to Colrain, bear right in the village to Rt 112 No. to Jacksonville. In J’ville village, take sharp left uphill to Vt Rt 100 South, go 1.8 miles to top of the hill. Turn left onto Goodnow Rd, and it’s ½ mile to Town Hill.
