About the original owner of this cache:
Dillonthedog was a geocacher based around the Congleton and Macclesfield area of Cheshire. She was an active cacher from 2003 until her death in 2013. She hid many caches including several short series of traditionals, such as the Safety Fencing series, the South Cheshire Way series, and the Dane Valley Way series. She also set infuriating multis and puzzles, which would often take many hours (and sometimes several visits to GZ) to complete. She was a respected member of the local caching community.
I never met dillonthedog, but I solved and found many of her puzzle caches while she was still alive, and I became a fan of her caches. After her death I volunteered to adopt 4 of her puzzle caches which I’d previously found and enjoyed, including this one. Many of her other puzzles and multis were similarly adopted by other local cachers.
The caches I’ve adopted from dillonthedog will be maintained and kept in good order, but I won’t change the listings or the hides – after all, they’re not really my caches. All of dillonthedog’s idiosyncrasies will remain unchanged – for example she never provided a geochecker, and rarely gave hints. The difficulty ratings of her caches can be deceptively low, and many of the caches will be well hidden. Please remember these caches were set by an “old-school” geocacher, and while you may have to work harder than usual for your smiley, the find will be more enjoyable as a result.
