Bella says she mostly wants kids to find this cache, but grownups can come too -- especially if they bring the kids!
It's a fairly short walk through the beautiful Redwood forest. Sadly the cool Redwood Tree chimney, "Cathedral Window," and tree that looked like it was hit by lightning were burned by wildfire in 2020.
But the current redwood grove has its own "window," and also shows off exciting new growth triggered by the fire -- bursting with new redwood suckers (baby trees) sprouted up all around!
The cache is an ammo box with a bunch of toys and things for kids.
You can probably find it a little more easily if you are a kid also. Or the size of one anyway.
You can park off of Empire Grade where it makes a triangle with Pine Flat. They even put nice new gravel there and everything. The trailhead is just a bit up the road on the other side. It's a little under a quarter of a mile to the cache and it never gets too steep. The cache is close to the path, but not right on it.
Or if you're just a grownup and aren't bringing any kids, then park down at the main trailhead off of Felton Empire. The walk's a bit longer from there, but hey, your legs are longer too! (wink)
