From here you can see all of the Livermore Valley. There's a place to park, and picnic tables if you'd like to bring lunch.
The trail below the picnic area is a bit steep, but a hunter doesn't have to go far to get to what they came for.
Mount Diablo seems to have several hike accessible caches, there are very few to none for people to find while taking a drive, so I placed this one on a cool blustery day. Do take the time to explore this treasure by foot, but if you're there like I was when I placed this, on a day that was less suitable for hiking, the views are stunning and still worth the visit.

There is a fee to enter Mount Diablo State Park, it is:
Main Entrances Fee - $10.00 per car / Seniors 62 and over - $9.00 per car
Mitchell Canyon and Macedo Ranch - $6.00 per car / Seniors 62 and over - $5.00 per car
