What's in Caesar's Box? Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

digitalformula: Thanks to yet another person that can only be described with words unsuitable for cache logs, this cache has been stolen. Since the puzzle and clues wouldn't make sense with another container, I have no choice other than to archive this cache. If you've found this cache in the past, you'll know what I mean.

Thanks to Alansee for alerting me to its disappearance.

Sorry to everyone that was planning on looking for this cache. :(

Geocache Description:

Welcome, Julius Caesar!

Note: The cache is not located at the published coordinates - they are BOGUS.  They're just the location of a nice park not (too) far from GZ.

GZ is absolutely muggle central at ALL times during the day and you might find yourself face-to-face with any number of them from any direction at any time.

Want a puzzle? You got one! Depending on how often you read popular novels you'll either recognise the puzzles below as mangled versions of what they really are or just sit there going … huh?  Don't be put off by the number of steps involved!

It's 100% possible to solve all this without using *any* of the hints attached to this cache listing - if you do, please say so in your log and I reckon you'll earn everyone's respect  That said, there are 2 hints for this cache as I'm not intending this puzzle to be unsolvable.  They should light the way reasonably clearly if you engage the ol' grey matter …

Part 1

Find me on The Googles on The Internets

  1. A = How many members were there in the political alliance the 'First Triumvirate', of which Julius Caesar was a member?
  2. Julius Caesar was considered a great man.  BC = the racing number of the man voted Australia's greatest ever touring car driver.
  3. D = The number of letters in the name of the country often considered the origin of the salad named after Julius Caesar.
  4. EF = The date in July that Julius Caesar was born.
  5. GH = Julius Caesar's age, when he died.
  6. I = The last name of the man mentioned in all the questions, so far.  Just the name … to make sure you're paying attention.  ;-)

Now that you've learnt a few things, it's time to get stuck in ...

Part 2

Part 2

Part 3

You're on your own from here … get that brain going!

Part 3

Part 4

Part 4

Part 5

If you've done everything correctly so far, part 4 should make more sense now ... write it down when you figure out the pattern.

Part 6

(Cell A4)(C)(Cell G3)(Cell C4)

Part 7

Use the following simple substitution formula in conjunction with your answers in the previous parts to work out the final cache coordinates.

S 37° 4(A+3).(E)(H+2)(F) E 144° (G)(C+2).(D)(B + 10 - 2)(E + F + 2)

Feel free to use geocheck.org to check your solution by clicking the image below ...

Having trouble?  There is a definite pattern in the puzzles above ... you just need to figure it out.  It's difficulty rating 4 though so that's all I'm saying.  :-)

Please replace the cache exactly as you find it - thanks!

Congratulations to Spladem and <?php echo ('C@H'); ?> for the joint FTF. ;-)
Congratulations also to feathertop for the 2TF.
