Geocache Description:

On our tours across the peninsula Drapanos we found near Gavalohori this historical place with the Venetian Wells. Here are as well very big trees spending shadow in summertime and some benches are available. So this is a good place for picnic and our reason to drop a cache here.
Have fun!

How to find the cache area?
Attention: NEW KOORDINATES at June, 02 2011 N 35 25.461 E 024 13.058 Reason: We did a routine check of the container and found something wrong. May be the new place is the better one.
Coming from the New Road take the exit at Waypoint 1, direction Kalyves / Vamos. Turn left on Waypoint 2, direction Gavalohori. In Gavalohori follow the sign VENETIAN WELLS and head up to the parking area on Waypoint 3.

The Venetian Wells were built in the 11. Century A.C. and here is the cache area with very old plane trees in rocky surroundings. We think for children a nice playground and they will have fun, too. Nearby there is the church Agios Georgios with a cemetery. On the other side of the road you can find an old bridge crossing the riverbed. So, if you have time, stroll around this interesting place.

The Cache:
The cache is nearly a drive in and we think is not difficult to find. The cache it selves is a "Small" one (plastic container) with a logbook, pen and pen sharpener and something to trade.
This cache can be very good combined with some other caches on Drapanos.
Good luck!
