Clapham Common is a triangular area of grassland in south London,
the three corners of which are marked by the underground stations,
Clapham Junction to the west, Clapham Common to the east and
Clapham South (not surprisingly) in the south. The area was
originally common land for the parishes of Battersea and Clapham,
and became designated public parkland in 1878. In the centre of the
park you will find a bandstand, a grade II listed building that
dates back to 1890. Clapham Common has three ponds, two of which,
Eagle Pond and Mount Pond are popular with anglers as they are
stocked with Carp, Roach, Tench and bream. Walking down Clapham
Common West Side look for a fallen tree on concrete. This location
is infront of a row of houses.
